Angie & Johan’s Wedding

Music, passion, faith, and romance perfectly describe Angie and Johan’s relationship. He is the person Angie dreamed of as a little girl, her Prince Charming and the love of her life; to him, she is the light of his eyes and his everything. Their love story began long ago in Panama, and their enduring affection led them to say “I do” at a wedding where God blessed their promises and love through the sacrament of marriage.

The photographs we captured as their wedding photographers on the most important day of their lives will be a lasting record and reminder of their special, unforgettable day.

From a University Friendship to an Unbreakable Love

Johan and Angie are both from Colombia. They first met in Panama during their first year at university, on a bus taking them to their campus in Colón. In time, their relationship blossomed beautifully. Although they began as friends, everything about Johan captivated Angie. She told us that from the first moment she saw him, she knew they had a special connection. Over the months, that connection grew into a beautiful relationship that led to a wonderful marriage.

Like every relationship, theirs had ups and downs, but nothing troubling. According to Angie, they always moved forward and overcame setbacks with honesty and good communication. “Yes, no relationship is perfect, but if both people are willing to give their best and work to build it on strong foundations, the imperfections become less important,” the bride explained. Those moments helped her realize that he was, and is, the one: the man who makes her days happier, full of color and joy, just as she does for him. Despite life’s circumstances and challenges, they are certain they can stay together and overcome every obstacle, because they have both chosen to choose each other every day.

While we were taking their wedding photographs, the bride told us that what she loves most about Johan is their chemistry and trust, as friends as well as a couple. After all their time together, they still see each other as best friends. Having so much in common has also been wonderful for their relationship. She also loves his spiritual faith, wisdom, and love of God.

The conversation did not end there. Angie explained that what she loves most about her husband is who he is. “Johan is confident and knows what he wants. He works hard to achieve his dreams, and his creativity knows no bounds. If he does not know how to do something, he finds out or learns how until he has a solution. Johan never stands still; he is very resourceful. Like me, he enjoys starting new ventures and moving forward. We do not give up,” she added with a big smile.

She gave us an example: “Ever since I was young, I have enjoyed starting projects, working for what I want, and setting myself challenges so I can grow as a person and make a positive difference in other people’s lives. Johan and I are always willing to help, especially him. He has a big heart and empathy, and that makes you fall in love with a man. But what really won me over was his determination to achieve every goal he set, his sense of humor, his positive attitude toward any problem, his thoughtfulness, his romance, and his adventurous spirit.”

Hearing her, the groom did not want to be left out and surprised us with these lovely words: “Angie is the love of my life. She has undoubtedly been my pillar of support and has been there in my most difficult moments. She is the best life partner anyone could have. She is also such a beautiful woman; her hair and eyes drive me crazy, although that is only a small part of how wonderful she is. What keeps me so deeply in love is her great and noble heart.”

Music, a Serenade, and Loving Smiles

The day Johan proposed to Angie was special. She had never imagined he would choose that moment to ask her. Angie was completely surprised by the romance, the beauty of it, and the way Johan showed his love.

It was August 28, 2019, and it began when he invited her on a date. He took her to dinner with live music, something they both love. For them, nothing is more romantic and exciting than dining by candlelight while listening to music. But he did not propose at the table. The proposal came in a truly moving and exciting way, when he was invited to sing with the musicians.

As the music played and everyone watched, he walked over to Angie, knelt in front of her, and spoke the magic words: “Will you marry me?”

Angie later told us how she reacted: “My eyes filled with tears and emotion. My feelings were close to the surface, especially when my family suddenly appeared, applauding. When I realized what was happening, I said yes immediately. Our smiles, full of love, tenderness, and affection, grew wider at that long-awaited word. A few seconds later, we kissed, ending the day with the promise we had longed for most.”

The Wedding: The Long-Awaited Moment

The wedding took place at the Meliá Panamá Canal Hotel in Panama’s Colón Province. For Angie, it was a wonderful day. She had several favorite moments, but the one that stood out most was seeing her husband standing at the altar, waiting for her. “When I saw the happiness on his face and his beautiful smile, my own eyes lit up, even more so when we sealed our covenant with God and said ‘I do.’ It was a magical occasion that will always stay in my memory,” the bride added with a gentle, happy smile.

After the ceremony, her favorite moment at the reception was their dance. “Dancing with him brought all my feelings to the surface. My heart raced with a sweetness that reached my soul. As we danced and enjoyed the reception, I remembered the times when we forgot about everything and everyone else. We would have long conversations, sharing stories and, above all, our dreams and hopes, without knowing that little by little they would come true. Knowing then that we could count on each other and support each other in everything kept us together and helped us overcome difficulties,” the bride said.

After recalling those moments, Angie realized that he is the man who has made her happiest. “I would never want him out of my life. He is my treasure, my happiness, and my pride. You can even see our incredible connection in the portraits the photographer took of us,” she explained.

For Johan, the most unforgettable moment was seeing her arrive in her beautiful white dress with her radiant smile. “She lit up the place,” he explained.

Johan and Angie’s wedding was unforgettable. Their love was strong and unbreakable, and their union before God, together with their mutual respect, gave them the opportunity to grow as people, fall in love with each other’s souls, and begin a lifelong journey together.
